***Author is Australian*** 12 paint-along sessions full of high quality fun that prove to true beginners, "YOU CAN PAINT!" 'Painting Party' builds confidence in the reader to produce paintings she'll be proud of, even if she hasn't picked up a paintbrush since high school. With lots of support for every single step in each painting, Anna knows that as adults, it's hard to let ourselves make "mistakes." In the paint-along style of an in-person social painting workshop, this book minimises the perceived risk and offers fantastic rewardscongratulations from friends and family and a sense of achievement. Many of the projects include ideas for 'something extra' like collage or glazing techniques, sgraffito or scumbling, so readers with some experience can learn new techniques. AUTHOR: Anna Barlett is a colourful, modern artist who lives in a long house on a foggy mountain top in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Having always loved to draw and paint, she made and sold hand-painted handbags for three years (more than 500 were sold), which helped her learn how to paint very quickly. Anna's superpower is making things simple. She started Shiny Happy Art in 2003 and has built a solid blog following. She rolled out the paint-along side of Shiny Happy Art in December 2011. Since then she has welcomed more than 500 people to paint in her studio, with her painting sessions selling out months in advance. Anna is also the Marketing and Development Manager at Downlands College.
